What Does TVET Stand for?

TVET stands for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. At the TVET College a student receives education and training which relates to a specific range of jobs, employment or entrepreneurial possibilities. TVET Colleges focus on vocational and occupational education and training with aim of preparing students to become functional workers in a skilled trade or use the skill to start own businesses.

A big benefit of attending a TVET college is the high focus on the employability of students where part of the curriculum requires the students to complete experiential training (internships and apprenticeships) which helps build up experience on your CV.

What Is The Difference Between TVET and FET College?

FET stands for Further Education and Training College and is an old term that was used and has since been changed to TVET. At these colleges the focus is on more vocational and occupational aspects provided from Grades 10 to 12 including career-oriented education and training offered in technical colleges, community colleges and private colleges.
