With a wide variety of courses to choose from, a TVET college education can provide you with all the necessary skills and knowledge you need for your career and business.
TVET Colleges fall under the national Depratment of Higher Education and Training, and are fully equipped to educate and train at a tertiary level to and provide you with your pathway to career and business success.
TVET stands for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. At the TVET College a student receives education and training which relates to a specific range of jobs, employment or entrepreneurial possibilities. TVET Colleges focus on vocational and occupational education and training with aim of preparing students to become functional workers in a skilled trade or use the skill to start own businesses.
A big benefit of attending a TVET college is the high focus on the employability of students where part of the curriculum requires the students to complete experiential training (internships and apprenticeships) which helps build up experience on your CV.
FET stands for Further Education and Training College and is an old term that was used and has since been changed to TVET. At these colleges the focus is on more vocational and occupational aspects provided from Grades 10 to 12 including career-oriented education and training offered in technical colleges, community colleges and private colleges.
